Heliot Europe becomes a member of the Catena-X Automotive Network
- Heliot Europe advises Catena-X on supply chain management applications
- The aim is to create a platform for standardised data exchange throughout the automotive value chain
- Efficiency and competitiveness of the European automotive industry to be strengthened
Munich, 20 january 2022 – Heliot Europe joins the Europe-wide partner network Catena-X Automotive Network. The aim of the network is to create a platform for standardised and cross-company data exchange throughout the automotive value chain. Based on this, a digital ecosystem is to be created in which automotive manufacturers and suppliers, dealer associations and technology suppliers can participate.
As an expert in communication solutions via the Internet-of-Things, Heliot Europe will advise the new partner on supply chain management applications. With its role as a network operator, it offers Catena-X members added value in the area of seamless monitoring within the supply chain: from faster return of load carriers to the retrieval of lost shipments and transport containers to mechanisms against the unintentional opening of packaging.
„In modern Industry 4.0, efficient machine-to-machine communication is essential. For this to succeed, however, uniform standards are needed. As a member of the Catena-X Automotive Network, we want to use our know-how to define these new standards“, says Christian Postel, CSO von Heliot Europe.
Together with the other members of the Catena-X Automotive Network, Heliot Europe also wants to promote further innovations and thus strengthen the efficiency and competitiveness of the European automotive industry.
„For us it is a great opportunity to be a member of the Catena-X Automotive Network“, comments Thomas Scheibel, CEO of Heliot Europe on joining the network. „We are sure we can make a valuable contribution. With our expertise in supply chain management, we want to drive an integrated European automotive industry. Partnerships with experts who complement our core competencies are essential for this.“
The network was founded in May 2021 by, among others, BASF, BMW, Deutsche Telekom, the German Aerospace Center, Henkel, Mercedes-Benz, Bosch, SAP, Siemens, Volkswagen and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. Companies such as Thyssenkrupp, Deloitte and Microsoft are also members of Catena-X.
